| Many people recognize that they need skills and knowledge to pursue planned gifts, but they don’t know how to gain competence without a significant investment of time and money. I can help you become effective in charitable and planned giving quickly and inexpensively.
I generally work with non-profits with multiple branch offices but centralized planned giving expertise, or who have not started a planned giving program or who have new Development Staff, Directors and/or Professional Advisors. What all of these people have in common is an interest in helping people create a legacy or sense of meaning around their money, but they are not quite sure about the tools available to do that.
You don’t have to be an expert to promote the use of charitable giving vehicles; you do have to know how to effectively start the conversation and know the best way to hand the conversation off to an expert (Estate Planning Attorney or Planned Giving Director for example) for follow-up. In order to do this you need a few key pieces of information:
- How to have an effective conversation about charitable vehicles.
- Knowledge of basic technical information.
- Know what to do once you get the interest going.
